Customizing your Support Center

Overview


This article shows how to customize the appearance of your Support Center using simple branding changes in the Web Themes editor. You can do things like add a header image or use your company colors and fonts. For information on advanced customizations, read about Desk's Advanced Theme Editor.

Steps

  1. Go to AdminChannels > Support Center > Web Themes
 
  1. Choose to edit your existing theme or add a new theme.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit the theme of your choice.
  3. To make simple changes like setting your own font and colors or uploading your own header images, go to the Look & Feel tab. You can also your custom logo to the browser tab, known as a favicon.

Once you make changes, you can click Preview in the top right and see how things look without saving. Use Save and Continue Editing in the bottom right to incrementally save your changes or click Update in the bottom left to save your changes and go back to the themes page.

  1. Background: Choose the background color of your Support Center.
  2. Text: Select the color of system text, such as article timestamps and breadcrumbs.
  3. Hyperlink: Select the color of the text in a hyperlink.
  4. Title Background: Select the background color of the Support Center title.
  5. Title Shadow: Select the background color of the shadow in the Support Center title.
  6. Highlight: Select the highlight color for search terms in search results.
  7. Button Hover: Select the color for when the cursor hovers over a button.
  8. Content Background: Select the background color of Support Center content.
  9. Content Text: Select the color of the text shown in support center content.
  10. Header Background: Select the background color of the Support Center header.
  11. Header Text: Select the color of the Support Center header.
  12. Button Text: Select the color of the text that appears within buttons.
  13. Button Background: Select the color of the search button on the index page.
  14. Error Text: Color of text for errors, such as missing required fields e.g., "Subject is required."
  15. Background: Choose the background color of your Support Center.
  16. Snippet: Select the color of the preview text that appears below auto-suggested articles.

Add Contact Information & Further Customizations

In the same edit theme area go to the "Customize Content" tab and add your contact information to the "Contact Us Content" Field. You may write HTML in this field.

Note: The content from this field is only visible if your phone channel is enabled.

From the same "Customize Content" tab you can add a header and footer along with custom CSS to match your company branding and website. 

If you want to perform more advanced customizations, you can do so in the Advanced Themes tab. The Advanced Themes feature allows complete control of the underlying HTML, CSS, and Liquid for your portal. Using the Advanced Themes editor requires being on a Standard Plan or above.
