Send Code in Your Reply

Last Updated -

Please Note: This article references the Next Generation Agent console and not the Classic Agent console. For more information, see Next Generation Agent and Classic Agent.

Overview

This article shows how to send code in a reply in the form that the agent intended. Without the proper tags, the code may get parsed or take on a different form in a reply. Important: Next Gen Agent does not support Code Previews. If this feature is a requirement. Please use Classic Agent.

Steps

Use the following tags to send code in your emails:

{% raw %}
your code
{% endraw %}

Add those tags around the code you want to send. Below is an example of sending a snippet of HTML code to a customer. We're sending the code:

{% raw %}
<p class="bluetext">Enter text like this for it to be blue and <strong>bolds text</strong>.</p>
{% endraw %}

In the agent it would look like this:

On the recipient's end, it will look something like this:

As you can see the code was sent intact and was not parsed, and the tags are not visible.

Want to send large amounts of code?

While the method above works great from small code snippets, if you want to send large amounts of code to your customers, we suggest you use a Github Gist and simply share that link with your customers.
